Novell President Ron Hovsepian has predicted, Linux desktop in the next year to a year and a half beginning in the mainstream fashion market.
Linux has been widely used for servers, personal computers, but relatively less successful, only a few users are familiar with technology Linux desktop. Many companies have previously predicted, open-source operating system in use in the upcoming PC explosive growth, but none of these predictions turned into reality. But Hovsepian now firmly believe that some change will cause Linux PC market matures.
Hovsepian that, Novell's upcoming SuSE Linux Desktop 10 has been mature enough, will be three markets of all ages. The first market is the large enterprise customers, their employees do not need full-featured PC, just need some basic software, such as the Web browser. The second market is the small business user, they do not attach importance to the Windows licensing costs savings. The third market is Brazil, Russia, India and Chinese consumers, they are price sensitive, but do not have a lot invested in Windows.
